Terms of Use

Lesson Materials Streaming Service (hereinafter “Service”) is a service provided by Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter “Yamaha”) for students at Yamaha Music School.

Please read these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy carefully before using this Service and digital materials. Privacy Policy describes the Yamaha Corporation's policy of personal information with respect to your usage of this Service.
By using this Service and digital materials, you agree to all these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you should not use this Service and digital materials.

This Service is owned by Yamaha and/or Yamaha’s licensor(s), and is protected by relevant copyright laws and all applicable treaty provisions.


1) User Qualification
1. You may use the Service in accordance with these Terms of Use and any other related terms that Yamaha may provide to you.

2. Yamaha reserves the right to deny user qualification to users whose user qualification has been revoked in the past or those whom for any reason Yamaha deems unqualified for user qualification.

3. We recommend the browsers for this Service are Microsoft edge, Google chrome, Firefox for PCs, and Google chrome (Android), safari (iOS) for smartphones. Yamaha and Yamaha Music School shall not be liable for any damage incurred as a result of your using the other browser for this Service and digital materials.


2) Prohibited Actions
1. When using this Service, you agree not to:

1. violate any relevant laws, court judgments, decisions, and orders, as well as any administrative measures that are legally binding;
2. engage in activities that violate public order and standards of decency;
3. provide economic and other forms of assistance to anti-social forces;
4. engage in activities that harm the rights, interests, or reputation of Yamaha or third parties;
5. impersonate a third party, or purposefully send out false information;
6. use this Service in any manner that might infringe third party copyrighted material or material that is subject to other third party proprietary rights, unless you have permission from the rightful owner of the material or you are otherwise legally entitled to use;
7. engage in the inappropriate collection, disclosure, or transfer of the personal information of third parties;
8. engage in the unauthorized access or use of a third party’s account, the creation or use of multiple accounts, and other similar actions;
9. engage in actions that cause this Service to crash or malfunction;
10.take advantage of unintended bugs in this Service, or use, create, or distribute outside tools that have the effect of causing unintended results in one’s use of this Service;
11.engage in reverse engineering, disassembly, decompilation or otherwise deriving a source code form of this Service by any method whatsoever;
12.engage in actions that have the effect of causing undue stress on this Service;
13.reproduce, modify, change, rent, lease, or distribute this Service in whole or in part, or create derivative works of this Service;
14.send or distribute computer viruses or other harmful programs to Yamaha or a third party;
15.electronically transmit this Service from one computer to another or share this Service in a network with other computers;
16.violate these Terms of Use or engage in actions that go against the intended purpose of this Service;
17.engage in other activities that Yamaha deems to be harmful or inappropriate.

2. You may not assign, lend, sell, encumber, or otherwise dispose of your qualification, this Terms, and any rights or obligations in this Terms to a third party.


3) Suspension and Revocation of User Qualification
If Yamaha determines that any of the following circumstances apply to you, then Yamaha may, without prior notice, suspend your use of this Service. Yamaha shall not be liable for any damage or loss of profit that you may incur as a result. Yamaha may do so if:

1. You have violated applicable laws, or these Terms of Use;
2. You have committed fraudulent or improper actions in your use of this Service;
3. Yamaha determines that it is necessary to protect security of this Service;
4. You are not a student, teacher or school staff at Yamaha Music School; or
5. Any other circumstances under which Yamaha deems such actions to be necessary.



4) Service Changes, Suspension, and Discontinuation
1. Yamaha may, in its sole discretion and without prior notice to you, make changes or supplements to all or part of this Service.
2. Through a notice or announcement made in advance, Yamaha reserves the right to discontinue this Service at any time in its sole discretion.
3. Upon the occurrence of any of the following events, Yamaha may temporarily suspend its provision of this Service, either in whole or in part:

1. A scheduled or emergency maintenance operation is conducted on Yamaha’s systems;
2. A system overload occurs, either due to high traffic or otherwise;
3. Yamaha deems it necessary in order to protect the security of Yamaha, or a third party;
4. The provision of this Service becomes impossible due to causes beyond Yamaha’s reasonable control, such as a communication line interruption, natural disaster, fire, power outage or any other unexpected accident, war, conflict, riot, or strike; or
5. Other circumstances under which Yamaha deems service suspension to be necessary.

4. Yamaha shall not be liable for any damage or losses that you may incur due to an action that Yamaha takes in accordance with this Article.


5) Limitation of Liability
YAMAHA’S ENTIRE OBLIGATION HEREUNDER SHALL BE TO PERMIT USE OF THIS SERVICE UNDER THE TERMS HEREOF. IN NO EVENT SHALL YAMAHA BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, EXPENSES, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE, MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THIS SERVICE, EVEN IF YAMAHA OR AN AUTHORIZED DEALER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL YAMAHA’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR All DAMAGES, LOSSES AND CAUSES OF ACTION (WHET)HER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE) EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THIS SERVICE.


6) Revisions to The Terms of Use
1. Yamaha may revise any or all of these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy at any time, or set forth additional terms or conditions to these Terms of Use. In the event that these Terms of Use are revised or added to, the changes shall go into effect as soon as they are posted on this Service website.
2. You acknowledge and agree that Yamaha may assign the Agreement or any rights and obligations hereunder to a third party in the event that Yamaha transfers this Service and its related business to such party, either through a merger, split, any other corporate change, or otherwise.


7) Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of these Terms of Use shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court as the court of first instance.
